Sony is set to unveil a new top of the range handset that will replace the Xperia S as its flaghip device in its portfolio.
According to Intomobile, the smartphone - which will be part of the Xperia range and currently carries the codename LT29i Hayabusa - will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 system on chip.
There are currently three devices as part of the new Xperia range; the S, the U and the P. While the S is not the fastest smartphone (or well endowed one) on the market, it does have some interesting features that make it very enticing.
There's a 12-megapixel camera with a 4.3-inch HD ready display, both of which are the best-of-breed for mobile phones and the Xperia S is rather cheap at around ?400. In fact you can already buy it on a two year contract for around ?21.50 per month in the UK.
The LT29i therefore is likely to be an evolution of the Xperia S, perhaps with a bigger screen; more importantly, it will bring 4G LTE, better battery life and better gaming performance.
